The VESTA program is designed and implemented as a technical certificate and two-year degree program to train individuals for employment in the grape and wine industry. The VESTA partnership delivers online advanced viticulture, enology and wine business/entrepreneurship courses that enable students to learn anytime, anywhere.
Through the partnership of accredited higher educational institutions across the United States, VESTA provides a foundation in the science, mathematics, technology and business skills needed for a productive career in the grape and wine industry. Upon completion of an Associate of Applied Science degree, articulation agreements will enable transfer of credts toward a Bachelor of Applied Science, Bachelor of Science or Master of Science Degree with accredited universities.
For those individuals that are interested in expanding their understanding on a single topic or just getting an taste of online learning, VESTA offers students the opportunity to take courses as a continuing education student. Should the student wish to earn a certificate or AAS degree in the future, they can apply all credits previously earned.
Associate of Applied Science Program
An Associate of Applied Science degree can be earned with the addition of 30 hours of general education courses from topics including but not limited to, English, mathematics, and political science. Students interested in pursuing an AAS degree should contact the VESTA Program Office for further information.
Bachelor of Applied Science
Students who complete the AAS degree can work with institutions within their area to articulate the VESTA courses into a BS or BAS degree program.
Masters of Science
Students who possess a baccalaureate degree, may apply for admission to the Missouri State University Graduate College. Through the Darr School of Agriculture, students who have been accepted into the Graduate College, can combine VESTA technical courses with Master level course work to earn a Master of Science degree in Plant Science with an emphasis in grape and wine. This MS degree program is offered completely online and provides students the same flexibility and high quality technical instruction that VESTA is noted for.
