Ronald grew up on farms and worked in skilled trades, manufacturing, construction and forestry for over 20 years. He still has enough fingers and hearing to enjoy playing the guitar. He acquired an AS from the Community College of Philadelphia, a BS in biology from Salisbury State University (Maryland), and an MS in biology from the University of Nebraska. He worked in wildlife field research 2006-2010 and was the Iowa State Coordinator for VESTA 2011-2016. At Northeast Iowa Community College, he manages the 42-acre Outdoor Learning Lab and teaches Biology, Human Biology, Environmental Science and Physical Science. This college also hosts the National Educational Center for Agricultural Safety. Drawing from these resources and experiences, Ronald teaches Vineyard Safety for the VESTA consortium.
