Professional Background
 
Patricia holds a BS in Fermentation Science and MS in Food Science from UC Davis, and owns perhaps the smallest freestanding bonded winery in the US with an annual production of 120 cases. Patricia is a TTB certified Chemist and has 30 years of experience in the wine industry, including technical winemaking positions at several Napa Valley wineries,  international work in France and Australia, and commercial lab ownership and management of a sensory and testing lab in Napa Valley.
 
Patricia is a co-founder of CERA (California Enological Research Association) and a past president of the ASEV (American Society for Enology and Viticulture).   She has taught wine classes for Napa Community College, Missouri State VESTA Enology program, and was the Teaching Laboratory Manager at UC Davis' Department of Viticulture and Enology. Patricia is a frequent author for wine trade magazines and her articles about technical, analytical, and sensory topics are widely published. In addition, she helped develop and is co-copyright holder of the Sparkling Wine Aroma wheel.
